How to download your Loom videos (October 2026)

Open the video in your Loom library, click the three-dot menu above it and choose Download; Loom saves it as an MP4. That works for admins and creators on Business and Business + AI, and for admins and members on Enterprise. Free Starter accounts can't download at all, and Loom has no bulk export, so a library comes out one video at a time.

These steps and limits come from Atlassian's Loom help centre and public issue tracker, checked on 14 October 2026.

Download one video

  1. Open loom.com and go to your Library.
  2. Open the video.
  3. Click the three-dot menu above the video.
  4. Choose Download. The file saves as an MP4.

Who can download

PlanWho can download
Starter (free)Nobody: "Admins/creators on a Starter Free plan cannot download videos."
Business and Business + AIAdmins and creators
EnterpriseAdmins and members, unless an admin has turned downloads off for the workspace
Any planNot Creator Lites

For meeting recordings, only the meeting organiser can download.

If you are on Starter, Loom offers a 14-day free trial of Business + AI, and Business + AI accounts can download.

What the MP4 leaves out

Loom says the downloaded file won't include CTAs, filler-word and silence removal, chapters or closed captions. Trims are kept. Videos that use Variables can't be downloaded, and videos over 20 GB have to go through Loom support.

Captions come separately: downloading them as an SRT file is limited to creators and admins on Business, Business + AI and Enterprise.

Downloading a whole library

There is no bulk download. A request for one, titled "Bulk download videos", has sat at "Gathering Interest" on Atlassian's public tracker since July 2025, and a related request notes that admins currently download videos one by one. Plan for one download per video.

Putting them somewhere you control

Once you have the MP4 files, drop them onto your Tellscreen library, or click Upload there and pick them all at once. Each file gets its own link, a transcript, an AI summary with chapters and key points, and an MP4 download. MOV, WebM and MKV files work too; files that can't be copied as they are get converted.

Two things to know before you cancel Loom:

  • Old links don't move. A loom.com share link keeps pointing at Loom. Replace the links in your docs and messages with the new ones before the Loom videos go away.
  • Comments and view history stay behind. Only the video comes out.
