Tellscreen

Tellscreen vs Agent-Native Clips (October 2026)

Agent-Native Clips is Builder.io's free, open-source recorder, labelled alpha. It records in a web app, adds a Chrome extension that captures console errors and a desktop app for meeting notes and dictation, and gives AI agents readable links. Tellscreen does one job: screen and camera recordings that become a link the moment you stop, with the transcript, summary, chapters and an MP4 download behind it.

Tellscreen is ours, and we borrowed one idea from Clips: links that AI agents can read. Clips' facts come from agent-native.com, clips.agent-native.com and the BuilderIO/agent-native repository, checked on 14 October 2026.

Where Clips is the better choice

  • You want meetings and dictation too. The Clips desktop app records Zoom, Teams and Meet calls with summaries and action items, and has push-to-talk dictation.
  • You file bug reports by video. The Chrome extension attaches console errors and failed network requests to the recording.
  • You want to run and modify it. The code is public; Builder.io's framework runs on any Nitro-compatible host with S3-compatible storage and Postgres.

Where Tellscreen is the better choice

  • It's finished and focused. No alpha label, no agent framework to learn: open the page, press Start, get a link.
  • An MP4 with your camera in it. Tellscreen burns the camera bubble into the download and makes an animated GIF for emails.
  • A share page built for viewers. Word-by-word highlighted transcript, chapters on the timeline, timestamped comments and replies, emoji reactions and viewer insights for the owner.
  • Measured speed. On a 20-second recording the link was on the clipboard 0.9 seconds after Stop, with the transcript about 21 seconds later.
